Absinthe L'Enjoleuse is a Absinthe From the "Les Parisiennes" series. This absinthe collection is based on historical originals in both its recipe and bottle design. Enjoleuse is based on a handwritten recipe from a book by Edouard Pernod. As in the 19th century, aromatic wine alcohol is used as the base for distilling the herbs. After distillation and coloring with natural herbs (no artificial coloring!), this absinthe is aged in an oak barrel. This process gives the absinthe its additional complexity.

When ice-cold water is added, Désirée becomes particularly cloudy. This intense cloudiness tells the connoisseur, even before the first sip, that they can expect a very strong absinthe. Upon taking that first sip, one is truly overwhelmed by the aromas; this absinthe is so intensely flavorful. Subtle hints of fresh anise emerge first, followed by a floral note of wormwood. The finish reveals the woody notes from barrel aging. All in all, L'Enjoleuse is a floral and intense version of the Green Fairy. We recommend it to absinthe enthusiasts who already have some experience with the Green Fairy.

Drink L'Enjoleuse Absinthe

L'Enjoleuse is an exceptionally strong absinthe. Therefore, you should prepare it with plenty of water. We recommend a ratio of one part absinthe to three to four parts water. Preparation should follow the classic French absinthe ritual. That is, with an Absinthe spoon topped with a sugar cube. The sweetness of the sugar complements the woody notes of the absinthe beautifully, further enhancing its aroma. Lightly sugared, L'Enjoleuse is almost reminiscent of a "spirited" praline. Delicious!

L'Enjoleuse is part of the Les Parisiennes collection, which is based on historical originals in both recipe and bottle design. L'Enjoleuse uses a handwritten recipe from a book by Edouard Pernodal.

After classic distillation with aromatic wine alcohol, the absinthe is colored with natural herbs (without artificial colors) and then stored in an oak barrel, giving it additional aromatic complexity.

The absinthe combines an intense, floral herbal aroma with spicy nuances. Fresh anise notes emerge first, followed by floral wormwood notes and a characteristic woody finish from barrel aging.

With an alcohol content of 72% ABV, L'Enjoleuse is one of the stronger absinthes. It becomes particularly aromatic when prepared classically with ice-cold water in a ratio of approximately 1:3–4 and, if desired, a little sugar.

Due to its intense aroma and complex structure, L'Enjoleuse is recommended to absinthe connoisseurs who have already had experience with strong absinthes and appreciate an expressive, historically inspired style.

Frequently Asked Questions General

Absinthe is a traditional herbal spirit whose characteristic taste is primarily derived from wormwood, anise, and fennel. It originated in the border region between Switzerland and France and became widely known in the 19th century.

Absinthe is traditionally diluted with ice-cold water, which is slowly dripped into the glass – often over a sugar cube. This preparation allows the aromas to unfold and creates the typical "louche" effect, where the spirit becomes milky and cloudy.

The high alcohol content serves as a carrier for the subtle herbal aromas and preserves them. Absinthe is therefore not intended for pure consumption, but is traditionally drunk diluted with water.

Absinthe is a traditional herbal spirit, whose characteristic taste is mainly due to wormwood, anise, and fennel. It originated in the border region between Switzerland and France and gained widespread recognition in the 19th century.

For the classic preparation, an Absinthe glass, an Absinthe spoon for the sugar cube, and a carafe or fountain with ice-cold water are used. These tools allow for slow dilution and ensure a balanced taste experience.
