For the celebration of our 20th anniversary, we produced this very special Absinthe accessory: The ALANDIA cork puller. It replaces a regular corkscrew. Why is it the better choice? Because with a prong cork puller the cork stays intact. You can easily "pull" the cork out of the bottle. This means no broken corks anymore and easy resealing of the bottle with the original cork.

Once upon a time in 2001, Facebook, YouTube and the iPhone had not yet been invented, two friends decided to sell Absinthe online. The timing was early, because the Green Fairy had just been legalized in the European Union. But this idea was to last for the next decades. For 20 years, we proudly supply the worldwide Absinthe community with real Absinthe and authentic accessories.

For the celebration of our 20th anniversary, we produced this very special Absinthe accessory: The ALANDIA cork puller. The two prong cork puller replaces a regular corkscrew. Why is such a bottle opener the better choice? Because with a prong cork puller, the cork stays intact. You can easily "pull" the cork out of the bottle. This means no broken corks anymore and easy resealing of the bottle with the original cork. Prong wine openers are very functional for old wine bottles (and pre-ban Absinthes), where the cork is quite porous. But you can use it as well for all other corked Absinthes and of course wine!

ALANDIA 20th Anniversary Bottle Opener

The ALANDIA corkscrew has a classy matte black look. The prongs are made of durable stainless steel. The color contrast looks particularly stylish. The stainless steel case is engraved with our anniversary logo. Each corkscrew weighs 3.53 oz (100 grams), which means it is pleasantly heavy in the hand. Inside, the cork puller is embedded in a black foam inlay. The packaging supports the noble character of this bar accessory and qualifies the corkscrew as a beautiful and practical gift. The ALANDIA cork puller is a limited edition of 1000 pieces.

Prong Cork Puller: How to open your corked bottle of Absinthe (or wine)

The two prong cork puller is different to a regular corkscrew. This is how you use it:

  1. Slide the longer blade, then the shorter blade between the inside of the bottle and cork.
  2. Press down the blades with short rocking movements.
  3. When the blades are completely pressed down, pull the cork upwards in a circular motion.
  4. The cork is completely intact and can be used to reseal the bottle!

Frequently Asked Questions about the
Product

The clamp-style corkscrew is ideal for gently opening wine and spirits bottles with natural corks. It is particularly popular for delicate or older corks.

Unlike conventional corkscrews, this one does not pierce the cork. This means it remains intact, does not crumble, and can even be reinserted into the bottle.

Frequently Asked Questions
general

For the traditional ritual, three basics are usually sufficient: an Absinthe glass, an Absinthe spoon, and ice-cold water (e.g., from a carafe). Sugar cubes are optional. Those who prepare Absinthe more frequently or serve multiple people often use a fountain or a brouilleur for particularly even dripping.

An Absinthe glass is shaped to better highlight the aroma and mixing ratio. Many classic models (e.g., Pontarlier glasses) support the typical dilution with water and ensure that the louche effect develops beautifully and controllably – something that often appears less "harmonious" in a simple tumbler.

The Absinthe spoon is placed over the glass to hold a sugar cube while water slowly drips over it. "The right one" primarily depends on the glass size and style: It is important that it rests steadily and offers enough surface area for the water to flow through evenly.

Carafe: simple, flexible, ideal for beginners Brouilleur: controlled drip directly onto the glass, very classic Fountain: perfect for quiet, even dripping and when several glasses are to be prepared one after another (or simultaneously) – often the "ritual upgrade."

For glasses: clean gently, especially with delicate shapes or decorations – ideally with mild dish soap and a soft cloth. Spoons (depending on material/finish) should be stored dry to maintain their surface and shine. For delicate or coated items, hand washing is usually the safest option.
