This premium absinthe accessory set contains particularly beautiful and elegant items, including four handmade "Pontarlier" absinthe glasses. Unlike industrially produced pressed glass, these glasses have no unsightly seams. Furthermore, the glasses are cut, giving them a nostalgic charm. The absinthe glasses feature a reservoir at the bottom, allowing you to measure the correct amount of absinthe during the drinking ritual.
The set also includes four stainless steel absinthe spoons, or "feuilles." Like the glasses, they are authentic reproductions of historical originals. The front of the spoons is decorated with wormwood leaves (feuilles = leaves in French). Overall, their appearance exudes the charm of the 19th century, making you feel like you're in a Parisian bistro.
A bag of absinthe sugar cubes is also included in the set. ALANDIA sugar cubes are slightly less densely pressed than conventional sugar cubes. They are also somewhat flatter. Both of these features ensure that the sugar dissolves particularly well during the classic drinking ritual.
We love this absinthe set because it combines authenticity with impeccable quality. If you're looking for quality with the charm of bygone eras, this absinthe accessory set is perfect for you!
Pontarlier Absinthe glasses are the original
The Pontarlier absinthe glasses are reproductions of original absinthe glasses from the Belle Époque. These glasses were made famous by a work of art by the turn-of-the-century painter Charles Maire (see photo gallery). Pernod Fils used this painting to advertise its absinthe. Large prints of the original painting were produced and distributed in bistros. This is how the Pontarlier glasses achieved worldwide recognition. If you like the design, you should visit a flea market on your next trip to France. Well-preserved examples can still be found today due to Pernod's large production run.
