Rosé Absinthe already existed during the Belle Époque in the 19th century. Based on this historical reference, Absinthe ALANDIA Rosé was created. True to the original, ALANDIA Rosé gets its natural color from hibiscus flowers. Besides coloration, they round off the herbal and fresh taste of the Absinthe into a floral-soft direction. Served with ice-cold water and one sugar cube, Absinthe Rosé is extremely smooth and refreshing in taste.

Rosé Absinthe already existed during the Belle Époque in the 19th century in France. A proof is the advertising poster made at that time by the printing house Imprimerie Camis (you can see it in our photo gallery). The light pink color derived from hibiscus flowers. Based on this historical reference, Absinthe ALANDIA Rosé was created. As in the past, the Absinthe gets its natural color 100% plant-based from hibiscus flowers. Besides coloration, they round off the herbal and fresh taste of the Absinthe into a floral-fruity direction. Besides the typical fresh taste of the herbs, you can detect notes of fresh strawberries and cotton candy. Super delicious! The alcohol content is slightly lower at 60% abv, which is also in line with the historical original.

ALANDIA Rosé owes its color to the hibiscus flower. This is a vegetable dye that fades when exposed to UV rays. That's why we wrap each bottle in paper to protect the contents from sunlight. It is best to always store the Absinthe in a dark place so that it retains its natural color for as long as possible. However, it is inevitable that the initial pink color will change over time to a golden pink (you can see this final color in our product photo). It is important to know that this is a completely natural process. It has no negative influence on the taste of the Absinthe. On the contrary, the storage makes the Absinthe even softer and more balanced in taste, it matures like a good wine.

How to drink Absinthe Rosé

You should drink ALANDIA Rosé according to the classic French Absinthe ritual. You need an Absinthe glass, an Absinthe spoon, sugar cubes and ice-cold water for this original way of drinking Absinthe. You start by filling some Absinthe into the glass (approx. 1 oz). Then place the Absinthe spoon on the rim of the glass, put a sugar cube on top and slowly add water. You can use a water carafe or - even more professional - an Absinthe fountain. The Absinthe in the glass blends with sugared water and magically louches to an opalescent white color with hints of pink. We recommend a ratio of 1 part Absinthe to 2 parts water. Finally, stir the Absinthe with the spoon. Your glass of Absinthe Rosé is prepared!

"Rosé" is a floral-influenced absinthe in which anise and hibiscus aromas are deliberately emphasized. It differs clearly from classic green absinthes, which are primarily herbal and wormwood-based.

The hibiscus blossom imparts a delicate, floral aroma that makes the absinthe taste softer and more elegant. The herbal base remains recognizable but is complemented by a floral note.

The color comes from the hibiscus flower, a natural coloring botanical. This isn't new. As early as the 19th century, there was rosé-colored absinthe, also colored with hibiscus. So, hibiscus isn't a coincidence or a mere design element, but rather an authentic part of absinthe culture.

"Rosé" is suitable for classic enjoyment with cold water and, if desired, a sugar cube. However, this is not strictly necessary, as the absinthe has a naturally sweet note due to its recipe.

ALANDIA Rosé is aimed at connoisseurs who enjoy unusual, aromatic absinthe varieties and are consciously seeking or wish to try a softer, floral alternative to classic absinthe. Its pink color is also noteworthy, offering a welcome change from the usual green.

Frequently Asked Questions General

Absinthe is a traditional herbal spirit whose characteristic taste is primarily derived from wormwood, anise, and fennel. It originated in the border region between Switzerland and France and became widely known in the 19th century.

Absinthe is traditionally diluted with ice-cold water, which is slowly dripped into the glass – often over a sugar cube. This preparation allows the aromas to unfold and creates the typical "louche" effect, where the spirit becomes milky and cloudy.

The high alcohol content serves as a carrier for the subtle herbal aromas and preserves them. Absinthe is therefore not intended for pure consumption, but is traditionally drunk diluted with water.

Absinthe is a traditional herbal spirit, whose characteristic taste is mainly due to wormwood, anise, and fennel. It originated in the border region between Switzerland and France and gained widespread recognition in the 19th century.

For the classic preparation, an Absinthe glass, an Absinthe spoon for the sugar cube, and a carafe or fountain with ice-cold water are used. These tools allow for slow dilution and ensure a balanced taste experience.
